Q:Do you have any reference material on inking and linework? Like a recommended book on the subject?

  • The DC Comics Guide to Inking Comics

Both of these books received good reviews. I’ve personally never read either of them, but from looking at their previews and reading user comments, the First Steps book seems to focus more on shading, where the DC book seems to focus more on the quality of line when inking drawings. So, depending on what type of inking you’re looking for, either book looks like a good pick.

You could also check out this, which was suggested by some people on ConceptArt.org, although it’s all text and could be a harder read.
